Soul singer Duffy and Coldplay dominate the nominations for the Brit Awards after being named in four categories each. Coldplay’s «Viva La Vida» and Duffy’s «Rockferry» are both nominated for the title of best British album at the Brit Awards. They will be going head-to-head with Radiohead’s ‘In Rainbows’ and The Ting Tings’ ‘We Started Nothing’. Meanwhile, Coldplay will also fight it out against Elbow, Girls Aloud, Radiohead and Take That in order to be crowned best British Group. They are also in contention for best single for ‘Viva La Vida’ and best live act. Duffy is also up for best single for chart-topper ‘Mercy’, best female solo artist and best breakthrough act. She will be up against Adele, Beth Rowley, Estelle and M.I.A. for the best female solo award. This year’s awards on February 18 will be held at London’s Earls Court and will be presented by Kylie Minogue and Gavin and Stacey stars James Corden and Mathew Horne.
